Common questions
Does the scanner work without internet?
Yes. Check-in verdicts are instant and keep working with no signal. Multiple doors sync automatically when the connection returns.
Are there per-ticket fees?
No. You bring your own guest list and pay a flat price — free for small events, from €20 for a single event, or a subscription for every event you run. No per-ticket fees and no commission on ticket sales.
Where does my guest data live?
In the EU. Guest data is deletable in one click, there is no tracking or advertising, and guests are never emailed by the platform.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Event Pass Reader runs right in your browser — nothing to install. Native iOS and Android apps are on the way.
What do my door staff need?
Any phone with a browser and a camera. Invite staff by email — they sign in and can scan and check guests in, but can't edit the event or delete guests.
Does it work with Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor, or my ticketing platform?
Yes. Export your guest or order list as CSV or Excel from any platform and import it — columns are mapped for you. You can also generate QR passes for guests without tickets.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. Import your list and you're scanning. Create a free event any time and run a rehearsal before doors open.
Do my guests need a new ticket or an app?
No. Tickets you import scan exactly as sold — the QR code or barcode already on each guest's ticket is their pass, and Event Pass Reader never emails your guests. For guests without a ticket, generate passes and download or print them to hand out yourself.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, any time — you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Your events, guest lists and reports are never deleted; new events simply follow the Free limits until you subscribe again.
Is a Single Event pass a subscription?
No. It's a one-time payment for one specific event. Nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel.
Can I move a Single Event pass to another event?
Yes — if you delete an event before using it, its pass returns to your account and attaches to your next event automatically. Once an event has check-ins, its pass counts as used.
What happens if my guest list is bigger than my plan?
The import warns you before anything is lost and shows exactly which plan fits your list. After upgrading, the same list imports in full — nothing you set up is thrown away.
